Chesterfield have agreed a fee with Cardiff City for in demand striker Eoin Doyle, according to reports.
Doyle has been the subject of much transfer speculation throughout the January transfer window with several clubs expressing an interest in the Spireites’ top scorer.
Championship sides Derby County and Millwall have been linked with the Irishman, who has 25 for the season, as well as League One clubs Sheffield United and Bristol City.
But it looks as though Cardiff City have won the race for the former Sligo Rovers and Hibernian man who has lit up League One in his second season with Chesterfield.
The Spireites were understood to be chasing a seven-figure sum for Doyle but a fee in the region of £750,000 has been accepted, Sky Sports has reported today (Monday, Februaury 2).
