Chesterfield FC have announced that they will face Leeds United in a pre-season friendly next month, less than a year after the Whites knocked Paul Cook’s men out of the Capital One Cup.

The fixture, which will be on Saturday July 26, has meant the Alfreton Town match has been moved forward.

It makes up part of a pre-season schedule that will see the Spireites face neighbours Alfreton Town, Buxton, Sheffield FC and Matlock Town, as well as premier league side Aston Villa at the end of the month.

The game against Leeds United will be the first of two home friendlies scheduled to take place before the Sky Bet League One campaign kicks off.
