Chesterfield duo Jay O’Shea and Ollie Banks have signed 12-month contract extensions, taking them until the summer of 2017.
After securing the pair’s future, Spireites manager Dean Saunders said: “I made it clear that I was keen to keep them and I’m delighted they have signed. We’ve more or less got all the squad on an extra year now, which is great.”
O’Shea said: “It was an easy decision for me to stay because I’m really enjoying my football now. Everything we do in training is football-based and the lads are really buying into it.”
Banks added: “I can get my head down now and hopefully get back to playing some good football again.”
O’Shea joined Chesterfield from MK Dons, initially on loan, in November 2012. Banks was signed from FC United of Manchester in September 2013.
