Midfielder Oscar Gobern has joined Chesterfield FC from Huddersfield Town on a month’s loan.
The 23-year-old, who began his career at Southampton and has represented England at under-19s level, is keen to play after injury.
Gobern spent pre-season recovering from a toe injury and has since found it difficult to break in to the Huddersfield first team.
He said: “I’ve been pretty much injured since pre-season so I need some game time.
“I’m very familiar with Chesterfield having played against them a few times. I’m quite physical but I also like to get on the ball when we attack.”
He played 25 games during the Terriers’ promotion from League One in 2011/12 and has gone on to make 42 Championship appearances.
Spireites boss Paul Cook expressed his desire to address an imbalance in his side after defeat on Tuesday night at Colchester United.
Daniel Johnson looks set to return to Aston Villa following the completion of his loan. His last league match would be Yeovil Town on November 1.
Cook added: “It is important that we have the right balance in the team as I have felt that the balance has not been correct in the last couple of weeks.
“The likelihood is that there will be further activity in the transfer market in the coming weeks.”
