Spireites beaten by Huddersfield

Chesterfield 0, Huddersfield Town 3

Chesterfield slipped to defeat against Huddersfield in Tuesday evening’s pre-season friendly at the B2net Stadium.

The Yorkshire side went ahead in the eighth minute when Alan Lee fired past Tommy Lee from close range after Scott Afrield’s shot rebounded off the post.

The Terriers doubled their advantage with 23 minutes gone, Jimmy Spencer’s glancing header finding the net following an Arfield cross.

Chesterfield came close to getting on the scoresheet in the 50th minute when Drew Talbot’s curling shot from the edge of the area hit Ian Bennett’s bar.

With two minutes remaining, Jordan Sinnott, a second half substitute, completed the scoring when he cut in from Chesterfield’s right and fired in from six yards.
