Chesterfield FC heroes of yesteryear are set to take on soap stars in a charity match at the B2net Stadium.
Spireites old boys such as Jamie Hewitt, Andy Morris, Ernie Moss, Andy Kowalski, Alan Birch, Phil Bonnyman, Sean O’Neill, John Turner, Chris Marples and Shane Nicholson will go head-to-head with TV celebrities from some of the nation’s favourite soaps.
The match will take place on Sunday, May 29, when the Spireites Legends and Guests sides will be managed by former Chesterfield management duo John Duncan and Kevin Randall.
The event is Jamie Walker’s sixth annual charity football match and will be in aid of three charities, Shannon Bradshaw Trust, Lymphoma Association, and Chesterfield FC Community Trust.
Jamie, who has been treated for cancer, is the son of former Chesterfield striker Phil Walker.
The soap stars involved will include characters from Emmerdale, Coronation Street, EastEnders, Hollyoaks, Waterloo Road, Britannia High, The Bill, Shameless and even Big Brother. Appearances will be subject to filming commitments. For more information go to www.charityfootball.co.uk
Admission prices is £5 for adults aged over 18 while people aged over 60 and children will be charged £3. A family ticket costs £12.
