John Sheridan, who guided Chesterfield FC to the title, has been named as the League Two manager of the year.
Sheridan collected his trophy at the League Managers’ Association’s annual awards dinner at The Hilton, Park Lane, London.
The award, voted for by his fellow managers, recognised the impressive feat of taking the Spireites to promotion as champions of League Two.
Richard Bevan, chief executive of the LMA, said: “To receive votes from and to be acknowledged by your fellow members, peers and competitors is a great honour.’’
Sheridan was delighted to with his accolade.
He said: “To receive such an award at the end of the season recognises that we have achieved our ultimate goal and I am so proud of all my players for what we have achieved together.”
