Burton Albion chief Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink insists his side aren’t getting carried away despite their excellent start to the campaign.
The Brewers are top of League One, with 18 points from the opening eight games.
Ahead of Saturday’s trip to face Chesterfield, the former Chelsea hitman says his side cannot rest on their laurels.
“It’s very pleasing to get the recognition but very dangerous,” said Hasselbaink.
“Going top of the league, you might get carried away or think you’re already there.
“We can’t relax and we just need to keep on going, game after game.
“But it’s great recognition for the work of the squad and what they’ve been doing.
“On the other hand, there’s no time to reflect and we have to keep on going.
“We hope they’re grounded enough not to get carried away but we need to keep on working hard.
“There’s no reason to drop our standards and they’ve done ever so well to this moment, but there’s plenty of work to be done.”
