Jack Lester has been offered a new two-year contract by Chesterfield FC.

The Spireites crowd favourite, who is aged 35, netted 17 goals as the Blues won the League Two title earlier this month.

Leading marksman Craig Davies, who found the net 25 times last term, has been offered a new one-year deal.

The list of those who are pondering new terms are: Tendayi Darikwa (1 year), Aaron Downes (1 year), Dean Holden (1 year), Tommy Lee (2 years), Jamie Lowry 1 year), Derek Niven (1 year), Gregor Robertson (1 year).

Just two players have been released - veteran defender Ian Breckin and reserve goalkeeper Shane Redmond.

Mark Allott and Drew Talbot, have already signed new two-year deals, and Dean Morgan has signed for one more year.

Six players are still in contract, while all on-loan players have returned to their parent clubs.

Three youth team players have been offered their first professional contracts. Meanwhile, work has already started on plans to recruit new players to further improve the Spireites squad.

Players still in contract for one more year: Scott Boden, Jordan Bowery, Craig Clay, Simon Ford, Dan Gray, Dwayne Mattis and Danny Whitaker.

On-loan players returned to their parent clubs: Kieran Djalali (Crystal Palace), Scott Griffiths (Peterborough United), Ian Morris (Scunthorpe United) and Deane Smalley (Oldham Athletic).
