Chesterfield FC paid £33,000 in agents fees during last season, according to a report issued by the Football League.
The Spireites made ten new signings between July 2013 and June 2014 in a season which saw them lift the League Two title.
They were by no means the highest spenders in the division that spent a total of £595,995 - 12 per cent less than in 2012/13.
Five other teams paid out more - Scunthorpe United (£121,480), Portsmouth (£85,150), Fleetwood Town (£70,593), Oxford United (£51,470) and Southend United (£42,968).
There was an 18 per cent reduction across the entire Football League in fees paid to agents from the previous season.
