The demolition of Chesterfield FC’s old ground has begun.
Contractors have started preparation work and seats have been removed from the main stand and the Compton Street enclosure while turf has been removed from the playing surface.
The ground was Chesterfield FC’s home from the 1870s until two years ago when the final match league was played there in May, 2010.
In the summer of that year, the Spireites switched to the £13m B2net Stadium.
Ownership of the site has now transferred to house builders Barrett who plan to build homes on the site after demolition is complete.
