Cheltenham Town 0, Chesterfield 3
Two goals from Craig Davies took him to 20 for the season for the first time in his career as Chesterfield extended their lead at the top of League Two to 11 points.
The ex-Welsh International also provided the assist for Kieran Djilali to score his first goal in just over a year as the Spireites cruised to a comfortable win over Cheltenham who played well in the first-half but were outclassed after the break.
Blues manager John Sheridan was delighted with the victory and said: “I thought we played really well, a very good performance by a team that looked as though they were at the top of the table. An excellent performance, a clean sheet and again we could have scored a few more goals.’’
Chesterfield will be looking to make it three wins in a row when they meet Northampton on Tuesday evening at the B2net.
Chesterfield: Lee; Talbot, Holden, Robertson, Griffiths; Smalley, Whitaker, Niven (Lowry 90), Djilali (Boden 81); Morgan (Allott 88), Davies. Subs not used: Redmond, Lester, Morris, Bowery.
