Chesterfield FC is hoping to prove a big hit with people aged 55 and over.
As part of its Extra Time project, the Spireites Community Trust team has invited everyone aged 55 or over to join in an afternoon of dancing led by an experienced dance instructor at the B2net Stadium. The team also plans to launch sessions of free ‘walking football’ next month for players aged over 60.
The tea dance is on Tuesday, June 28, from 2-4pm when there will be a range of dances including sequence, ballroom, Latin American as well as some recognised old-time classics.
This project is free and just a limited number of places are available.
Meanwhile, the ‘walking football’ sessions will be led by Blues legend Andy Morris when the rules will be the same as normal football but with only walking. It starts on Tuesday, July 5, from 11am-noon on the 3G pitch at Queen’s Park Sports Centre and continues until August 30.
Booking for both is recommended and anybody seeking any further information should contact the Community Trust team on (01246) 209765, option one, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
