Chesterfield have given supporters an update on their hunt for a new manager.
The Spireites haven’t set a deadline for an appointment but want someone in place in time to make decisions on who of the current squad is to go and who will stay.
Club director Ashley Carson said: “After considering 35 applications, we have interviewed some strong candidates for the role.
“The board, together with club owner Dave Allen, will carefully assess the claims of those under consideration before making a decision.
“The retained list has to be announced later this month and there are 10 players who will be out of contract so the new manager will have some key decisions to make before assembling a new-look squad.”
