CHESTERFIELD will travel to Plymouth unchanged from the side which convincingly swept aside Cheltenham in mid-week.

Paul Cook stands by the same players who put four past the high-flying Robins to secure back-to-back wins in the league.

Tuesday night’s victory saw summer signing Marc Richards score on his return to the side in the lone striker role.

And Cook said he was well supported by the likes of Tendayi Darikwa, Brennan Dickenson, Danny Whitaker and Chris Atkinson.

“I think it’s important people don’t get carried away with formations. We want to attack and we want to penetrate as quickly as possible,” said Cook.

“We don’t just want to pass for the sake of passing and going forward the team then should be able to go into a very solid defensive shape if we come under pressure, which we will do.”

With the arrival of new loan signings Jay O’Shea and Conor Townsend, Cook believes there is a healthy competition for places as his squad begins to take shape.

“We’ve got great numbers all of a sudden and it’s great to have options on the bench,” he added.

Transfer-listed Craig Westcarr has joined Walsall on loan until January 5, Liam Ridehalgh has teamed up with Rotherham United while Cook was quick to put to bed speculation Jack Lester had retired and stated he’ll be on the bus to Plymouth.

Chesterfield’s opposition on Saturday lost 1-0 away at Bradford on Tuesday night and go into the game without a win in seven matches.

Centre-half Darren Purse is suspended while Paul Wotton is out until mid-December and top-scorer Rhys Griffiths has missed the last two matches with a hamstring injury.
