Scott Boden picks the ball out of the net after pulling one back for Chesterfield
Spireites reporter Liam Norcliffe delivers his verdict on a disappointing night for the Spireites, who were beaten 2-1 at the Proact Stadium.
Was not called into action too often and didn't appear to have much chance with Dave Tarpey's free-kick from the edge of the box. Got forward a number of times in the first half and offered a decent outlet for the Spireites. Crossing was hit and miss though. Showed plenty of effort and determination and got forward from the back to join in attacks at times. Not his best game compared to previous performances. Distribution let him down on a few occasions with a couple of unnecessary long passes. Showed a willingness to bring the ball out of defence and linked up okay down the right with Smith. Gave his all but can't help but feel he would be better off back in central midfield. Had a steady start with some neat passes out to the wings and one particular good driving run from midfield. Faded in second half and was subbed. Still working his way back up to fitness. Enjoyed one fair, crunching tackle in the first half. Subbed after 56 minutes. Found some space in front of the Woking defence in the first half and had a couple of runs at the away back-line. Lacked an end product. Was busy in the first half and looked a threat but didn't find himself on the end of many goalscoring opportunities. As Sheridan said, looked the only one who could find the net on the night. And he did, his third of the season but it came too late. Came on after Woking's opener and offered more mobility to the team but had little impact. Again, added some youth to the side but Spireites two goals down by this point. Got on the ball in the last half an hour but distribution was not the best.
