Chesterfield have Drew Talbot back from suspension as they prepare for the table-topping challenge of Burton Albion at the Proact Stadium on Saturday.

Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink has led the Brewers to their highest ever position with six wins from their eight League One fixtures so far.

Striker Stuart Beavon, formerly with Wycombe Wanderers and Preston North End, has scored four goals, all of them coming in games won by a single goal and including the winners in 1-0 victories over Swindon Town and Rochdale in Albion’s last two matches.

He’s been backed up well by Abdenasser El Khayati, who moved to the Pirelli Stadium in January from Dutch non-leaguers Kozakken Boys.

Ever present on the win is former Chesterfield loanee Mark Duffy who remains with parent club Birmingham City.

Only Barnsley and Coventry City have triumphed this season against Albion, last season’s League Two Champions.

None of their 11 league and cup fixtures this term have been won or lost by more had than a single-goal margin.

Chesterfield will be looking to improve after the 1-0 loss at Coventry.

A 50th-minute Adam Armstrong goal was enough for the Sky Blues to take all of the points, although the home side could have scored more but for offside decisions, profligate finishing and the brilliance of Spireites keeper Tommy Lee.

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Chris Herd, Sam Hird and Liam O’Neil will all be a week fitter after recovering from injuries.
