Chesterfield FC, the newly-crowned champions of League Two, has praised its fans for their impeccable behaviour at the weekend, which ensured everyone in a packed B2net Stadium were able to enjoy and savour the spectacle of the championship presentations and on-pitch celebrations by the players and management.
Spireites chairman Barrie Hubbard said: “I am so proud of the way our fans behaved after the Gillingham match and can’t thank them enough for making it such a wonderful day to remember in the history of the club.
“The Football League, and their sponsor’s npower, did us proud with the championship ceremony and I hope everyone has noted that our fans celebrated in a responsible manner, which ensured it was such a joyful occasion for everybody.
“We had a plan for everything that was to happen on the day and thanks to the fans staying off the pitch, as we had asked, everything worked absolutely perfectly and was a fitting end to a wonderful season.
“Well done everyone and thank you for making such a special occasion so very special.“
Meanwhile, the second of two sell-out Player of the Year Awards nights will take place at the B2net Stadium this Tuesday, May 10, 7pm for 7.30pm with everyone in attendance.
