Chesterfield have turned down two bids for Sam Clucas in the past seven days - one of which from Wigan Athletic.
The Spireites chief executive Chris Turner said: “The bids have been received in the last seven days and they were both rejected.”
Clucas joined Chesterfield from rivals Mansfield Town in September 2014 and has gone on to make 49 appearances for the club in all competitions, scoring 12 goals.
He was often used on the left side of the attacking three midfielders in the Spireites’ 4-2-3-1 formation and had sometimes filled in on the left side of defence.
But it was up front where he really caught the eye following Eoin Doyle’s departure to Cardiff in February, showing similar traits to the Irish 25-goal machine.
