Blues held at Bury

Bury 1, Chesterfield 1

Table toppers Chesterfield remain five points clear at the head of League Two despite extending their win-free run to five games.

Leading marksman Craig Davies netted his 16th of the season to give Chesterfield the lead in the first-half but a determined Bury side levelled right at the start of the second-half through Ryan Lowe.

The Spireites ended the game with ten men after Deane Smalley was sent off five minutes from time for picking up a second yellow for a foul after an initial one for kicking the ball away.

The match marked a milestone for Blues keeper Tommy Lee who was playing his 100th league game for the club.

Chesterfield: Lee; Vidal (Breckin 65), Holden, Ford, Robertson; Smalley, Whitaker (Bowery 65), Allott, Morris, Djilali; Davies. Subs not used: Redmond, Boden, Niven, Griffiths, Lowry.
