A highly entertaining match at Greenwich Avenue on Tuesday evening saw Bulwell gain quick revenge for Saturday’s league defeat by beating Pinxton 3-2.

Jake Vernon put Pinxton a goal up after half an hour, a lead which they held until 50 seconds after the interval when Sean Craven scored the first of his two superbly struck goals, the second coming on 67 minutes.

Jake Fisher’s 83rd minute strike looked to have sewn the game up for the Bulls, but a Pete Stubley goal four minutes from time ensured a nervous ending.

Hucknall Town’s tie with Sherwood Colliery didn’t reach the same heights, 120 minutes failing to produce a goal, but Sherwood prevailing 4-2 as the match was decided from the penalty spot. Brodsworth Welfare claimed a place in the northern final after a 2-1 win at Retford.

A Courtney Peynado goal put the visitors ahead in the first half, Josh Bowkett doubling the score in the closing stages before Callum Rush pulled one back for Retford.

In the Black Dragon Badges South Matlock Town Reserves and Holbrook St Michaels played out a 0-0 draw, only the third to finish goalless in the 215 matches played in the division this season so far.
