Dronfield Town celebrated lifting the Central Midlands Football League title after an emphatic 6-0 win over Easington United.
Town needed just one point to ensure the championship went back to Stonelow in their final game of the season.
With tensions high, Dan Wood’s exquisite free kick and Richie Marples’s tidy finish banished any early nerves as Dronfield raced into a two-goal lead at the break.
Town then turned the screw in the second half with some great football and clinical finishing.
Callum Mawbey thundered home a header before he bundled a second over the line after great work from Nick Horsfield.
A wonderful John Doran volley was the pick of the goals before Mawbey completed his hat trick sweeping home from close range.
While, Dronfield Town’s under 21s retained their Meadowhall Sunday League championship with a 3-1 win midweek over AFC Woodhouse. Johnny Pugh scored twice and Tom Collier grabbed the other.
They then celebrated in style on Sunday with a 10-1 win over Crosspool. Scorers were Tom Collier, Johnny Pugh, Adam Briggs and Jordy Bullen with doubles and one each from Will Mallinson and Mikey Shaw.
