It is not complete just yet but both the trust and Spireites company secretary, Ashley Carson, are confident it will go through by the end of the month.

@tobyperkinsmp: “'I’m glad that our local Councils value the role that @ChesterfieldFC play in our town and how crucial it is that they survive and thrive. I hope that the Trust have the wherewithal to survive the current nationwide difficulties and that fans give the new regime their backing.”

@benaramsdale: “Big news for Chesterfield. Fans another huge step closer to getting their club back. It might not be a multi-millionaire glamour takeover but it's one that connects many supporters that have become so detached over the last few years back to the club. New era.”

@pkfsport: “Make no bones about it this is massive for @ChesterfieldFC and the supporters. It's also massive for the Town. CFC plays an important role with the population. It isn't going to be easy but this is a huge relief and finally the club belongs to the Town.”

@KevSportsLaw: “With @ChesterfieldFC being my second team, I was absolutely delighted to read this news yesterday. Now the @spireitestrust can complete the takeover, it will be the first time a professional #football club is owned by a charity.”

@cfchistory_com: “Cautious elation is a peculiar feeling, but that's where I am with today's news that Chesterfield Borough and Derbyshire County councils are each weighing in with a £500k loan to assist the Community Trust to buy out Chesterfield FC's current owner.”
