A three goal game at Clowne Wanderers saw the hosts run out 2-1 winners over New Whit Social, Ryan Newbold and Ricky Machin with the winning goals.

A nine goal thriller in HKL TWO saw Midland just edge out Brampton Victoria 5-4. Joe Blayne scored twice for the Vics, Charlie Oglesby and Jack Abbott-Cragg once.

However a double from Josh Glover plus goals from Ross Taylor and Cameron Evans earned the points for Midland. Rangers are the very early season leaders following their 2-2 draw with Brampton Moor Rovers for whom Elliott Crowder scored both goals. Ben Meadley scored twice as Hepthorne Lane beat Glapwell Gladiators 2-0 whilst a goal apiece from Alex Stone and Simon Whitehouse helped Crown Killamarsh to a 2-1 win over Bolsover Town for whom Aiden McTighe found the net.

Andy Woolvern was in scintillating form for Grassmoor Sports in HKL THREE, hitting a double-hat trick in Sports 7-2 win over Bridge Inn, Josh Statham scoring goal number seven. Both Renishaw Rangers and Tibshelf Community made it two wins from two starts on Sunday in HKL FOUR, Tibshelf beating Barlow Kingston Rovers 1-0 whilst two Rickie Davidson goals earned Rangers a narrow 2-1 win over Arkwright Town. Mutton, thanks to goals from Harper, Ordidge, Waller and Allcock ran out 4-1 winners against Dronfield Town.

In HKL Five, Joe Whittaker headed home with 15 minutes to go to give Espial a 1-0 win at North Wingfield WMC.

For North Wingfield WMC it was a heartbreaker as they had worked so hard with a resolute back line to deny the league new boys.

The first half had provided little in the way of goal mouth chances and a goal less scoreline represented the contest well.

However in the second period the prowess of Espial came to the fore as they spread the ball around the park but the home side were performing heorics throughout the team the back four were looking solid and their commitment to the cause looked as though it would earn North Wingfield a point.

That was until we headed into the closing quater of an hour and Whittaker jumped superbly at the back post to head home a right wing corner, the visitors did hit the underside of the bar with an edge of the box shot shortly afterwards.

But it would be that single goal line cross effort that would be enough to take home the three points for Espial and send them two points clear at the top of the table.

In HKL FIVE Carr Vale Utd recorded a comfortable 5-1 win at Hasland Community with Pashley and Smith both scoring twice, Cowley once. Espial needed to score five times last week to beat Gate Inn but on Sunday a solitary Joe Whittaker goal proved to be enough to beat North Wingfield MW and Gate Inn appear to have solved their defensive problems as they played out a goalless draw at Tiki. Goals were also at a premium in the Newbold Community Football Training Spartans clash as Connor Roberts scored the only goal of the game to secure the points for the Newbold outfit.
