Brampton Rovers miss chance to go top in Chesterfield Sunday League

With no action in HKL ONE the league’s second division took centre stage on Sunday as Brampton Moor Rovers were presented with the opportunity to move to the top with a win at Bolsover Town.

In their previous six outings Rovers had drawn three of their games and a fourth draw saw them having to settle for a point and third place in the table. Sam Kelly and Liam Richardson were on target for Town with Jack Rickets and Carlo Marchetta scoring the Rovers goals.

Clowne Wanderers Reserves were playing only their third game of the season when they took on Glapwell Gladiators and as in their previous two they were victorious. Regan Eldridge scored twice against Glapwell, Max Dungworth once.

In HKL THREE Hollingwood Athletic’s solid start to the season continued with a 3-1 victory over Spotted Frog, their fourth of the season, Richard Crookes, Ryan Whittaker and Dan Fletcher finding the back of Frog’s net.

Britannia Tupton produced an impressive performance as they eased past opponents Grassmoor Sports as Josh Burrows and Billy Brooks both scored twice, Sam Pears and Chris Hooper once in a 6-0 success.

Mutton hit the top of HKL FOUR with a victory over Tibshelf Community in a high scoring game at Doe Hill Lane. Marcus Fisher hit a hat trick for Tibshelf, Alex Prior one goal however at the other end of the pitch they conceded eight times as Aiden Ordidge also scored a treble, Liam Waller scoring twice, Sam Blayne and Tom Suter once and an own goal completing Mutton’s goal tally. Barlow Kingston Rovers also ran in eight goals this time at the expense of opponents Clay Cross Utd who scored twice. Two Rovers players scored twice in the win, Remy Davies-Beckett and Alex Haythornthwaite, Ed Biggin, Tom Grant, Will Eaton and Richard Sharman also on target. Dronfield Town were also winners, beating Arkwright Town 3-1, Josh Devereux, Alex Sanderson and Kane Snell with the winning goals.

Brimington’s one hundred percent start to the season continued in HKL FIVE with a closely fought 4-3 win at Tiki moving them into pole position in the division in the process. On target for the new leaders were Craig Buchanan who scored twice, Cameron Hutton and Connor Yates.

Carr Vale United Bolsover came out on top in their game with Newbold Community Football Training, beating them 5-2, Josh Pashley scoring two of the winning goals, John Smith, Kirk Cowley and Ryan Capuano one apiece. Chris Collins scored twice for North Wingfield Workingmens Club as they ran out 4-0 winners over visitors Hasland Community, Gary Brooks and Connor Scott once.

In HKL SIX a nine goal game went the way of Apollo, their fifth win in as many starts which moved them three points clear at the top of the table. Tom Robe scored twice for opponents Brampton Rovers, Tom Galley and Luke Adderley once, whilst Ethan Marsh and Nathan Watson both scored twice for Apollo, Joel Attack once.

In stark contrast the game between Palterton Sporting Club and Spartans Reserves produced just one goal and Tom Hague scored it to secure the win for the latter. The third fixture in this division saw Castle run out 3-1 winners over Creswell, Carl Germany, Danny Stokes and Ashley Scattergood scoring the winning goals.
