Chesterfield College celebrated a double victory over Central College Nottingham.
Brad Hextall scored a brace for the firsts in a 2-0 win in a game Alex Sennett was named man of the match.
Sol Swarvett collected the same honour in the second team’s 4-2 win over their Nottinghamshire counterparts.
Chesterfield College team manager Neil Cluxton underlined the importance of both results in each side’s respective campaigns this term.
He said: “This was a crucial victory for both teams as they were in a relegation dogfight in their respective leagues.
“Hopefully they will now both gain confidence from these performances and push on up the league.”
He added that home fixtures against Bilborough College have been pencilled in for Wednesday afternoon (March 4) at Langer Lane for his college teams.
Meanwhile, the college hosted a 12-hour charity football match in aid of Ashgate Hospice last Friday (February 27).
