The young striker is a potential loan signing for the Spireites and Allen has so far used him in friendlies against Boston United and Gainsborough Trinity.

Allen plans to take a third look at the 19-year-old son of former Sheffield Wednesday and England star Des, in a match scenario on Saturday at Nuneaton.

“He’s got a great attitude in training, he’s been enthusiastic, buzzing, bright,” said Allen of the youngster.

“I really enjoy his company and all the players like him.

“I’m going to see him in one more game on Saturday and then I’ll have a chat with him after Saturday’s game.”

Walker signed for Derby County from non-league side Ilkeston in 2016, having already got a taste of senior football.

Since then he has spent time on loan with National League North side Darlington and impressed for the Rams Under 18s and Under 23s.

In January of this year he fired in four goals in a 7-2 demolition of Birmingham City Under 23s.

First team chances have been few and far between for the teenager, however.

Two appearances as a substitute for Derby County Under 23s in the EFL Trophy during the 2016/17 campaign are as close as he’s come to senior football for the Rams.
