Alfreton Town sign ex-Burton Albion man from Ilkeston FC

Alfreton Town boss Nicky Law has strengthened his squad by signing highly-rated right-sided player Joe Doyle-Charles from neighbours Ilkeston FC.

Doyle-Charles, 20, is a product of Burton Albion’s Academy and his exploits earned him his first professional contract under then Brewers manager Gary Rowett in the summer of 2014.

He was included in the match day squad for Burton’s League Two play-off final at Wembley but found his opportunities limited under Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink.

Versatile Doyle-Charles, who signed for Ilkeston in the summer of 2015, can operate in defence or midfield.
