The Reds will be aiming to extend their unbeaten run to ten games in all competitions and eight in the league.

However, they will have to do it without the services of Brad McGowan who picked up a hand injury in the 2-0 win at Curzon Ashton on Monday which will rule him out for the rest of the season.

It is desperately bad news for both player and club as he had been in terrific form at the heart of the defence since joining from Grantham Town.

McGowan underwent an operation on Friday morning and is expected to be out for at least three months.

Manager Nicky Law will also be without Stefan Galinski who has gone on loan to Grantham Town for a month, literally hours before the news of McGowan’s injury came through.

There are no other injury or suspension issues to contend with as the Reds seek a fourth successive away win in the league although a tough game is in prospect as 16th-placed Worcester have won their last two league games.

That included a fine 2-0 home win over title-chasing North Ferriby United in their last outing.

An Alfreton win could take them into the top eight whilst Worcester will be seeking three much-needed points as they currently lie just six points above the relegation zone.

Earlier in the season Alfreton edged the first game between the sides with a 2-1 victory at the Impact Arena back on September 15 thanks to early goals from Ryan Wilson and Jordan Robertson.

Lee Hughes replied for City in the second half.
