Last week’s semi-final tie was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at the Moat Ground, and the game will take place tonight instead.

It is a first semi-final appearance for Nicky Law’s side since the 2012/13 season, when they lost 2-0 at Ilkeston.

And should Alfreton win, it will be their first Senior Cup final since 2008, a year that saw them lose out to Belper Town.

Gresley, meanwhile, will be aiming to reach the final for the second successive season.

Saturday’s 3-1 victory over FC United of Manchester made it 10 games unbeaten in all competitions for Alfreton, whereas tonight’s hosts lost 3-0 at Leek Town.

Gresley boss Gary Ricketts was sent off after leaving the pitch to confront a Leek fan over an alleged racist taunt.

The clubs have only met once before in the Senior Cup with Gresley running out 3-2 winners at the Moat Ground in a third round tie in the 2011/12 season.

Kick-off tonight is 7.45pm and extra time and penalties will be utilised if necessary.

Alfreton Town FC Supporters’ Association transport to the game will depart at 5.30pm and seats can be booked by contacting Mark Thorpe on 07857 558401.
