Reds manager Nicky Law will be looking for his side to extend their seven-game unbeaten run as they look to close in on securing a fifth successive season of Vanarama Conference football.

Law will have the boost of having joint top scorer Karl Hawley available again after recovering from a minor injury which kept him out of the draw with league leaders Barnet last Saturday. However, Niall Heaton will miss out having damaged a shoulder in the same game.

The Racecourse is a very happy hunting ground for the Reds who have not lost there in the league in three outings, winning two and drawing the other. They have also won 4-2 there in the FA Cup first round proper in the 2012/13 season but did lose 3-1 in the same round of the same competition the following season.

Victory could put Alfreton nine points clear of the relegation zone but a defeat could leave them still anxiously looking over their shoulders with just four games to go and two of those are against title-chasing sides.

Wrexham go into the game looking for a first win in six games in all competitions. And they are also looking for a new manager after they ended Kevin Wilkin’s term in office the day after losing the FA Trophy final against North Ferriby United.

On home soil, Wrexham have dropped 34 points so far, winning seven, drawing eight and losing six of their 21 games at the Racecourse this season.

In their latest outing, the Dragons drew 1-1 with Dover Athletic on Tuesday evening in North Wales, goalkeeper Andy Coughlin ensuring the point by saving a penalty.

Earlier this season Wrexham emerged victorious from the first fixture between the sides, running out 3-2 winners at the Impact Arena way back on August 23rd, 2014.
