However, they will go into the game buoyed by their first win of the season, a 1-0 success over a previously in-form Gainsborough Trinity at the Impact Arena on August Bank Holiday Monday which came thanks to a Tom Allan header nine minutes from time.

Nicky Law was delighted with the deserved victory and the first clean sheet of the season, one which was coming and he will now be looking for his side to build on their first three-pointer.

Reds manager Law will again be without the suspended captain Dan Bradley and injured striker Sam Smith (ankle) but is expecting to have both midfielders Andi Thanoj and Sam Jones available again after injury and illness respectively. He will also have the option of latest signing, striker Jordan Robertson, who has been added to the squad.

Chorley edged past Stalybridge Celtic in their last outing on Bank Holiday Monday as Josh Hine scored just six minutes from time.

It left Chorley with three victories in their last five games and one draw.

This took their tally to 10 points for the season after two defeats in two to kick off their campaign, three points in front of the Reds.

Despite Chorley hitting a bit of form recently, Alfreton will be confident in building on their first win of the season and try to find their stride in this league.

Kick-off at Victory Park is 3pm.
