Reds manager Nicky Law will be looking for a big reaction from his side after last weekend’s 2-1 defeat at Braintree as Alfreton head into a massive week of three crucial games against sides in and around them at the bottom of the table.

Law has plenty of selection choices. He could recall striker Joe Ironside or hand a start to latest loan signing, former Leeds United midfield player Simon Lenighan who has joined to the end of the season from Harrogate Town.

There are no reported new injuries and no suspensions to contend with.

A win for the Reds in what is an all-but must-win game for them will close the gap on Aldershot who go into the game in eighteenth place, five points and three places better off than Alfreton. A victory would also keep the pressure on the sides in and around them and just above the Reds.

In their last outing, Aldershot needed a 90th minute penalty to beat Welling United 2-1 in Hampshire last Saturday.

The Shots will also have other things on their mind as they head into a week of interviews to decide their managerial vacancy following the dismissal of Andy Scott in late January.Caretaker manager Chris Barker is among the candidates being interviewed.

In the first meeting between the sides this season, Aldershot triumphed 2-0 in Hapshire on October 4th
