Alfreton Town manager Nicky Law has given his squad a double boost ahead of Saturday’s Vanarama Conference clash at top-of-the-table Barnet.
The Reds boss has signed two strikers on one-year deals with former Notts County and Torquay United Karl Hawley joining alongside summer trialist Bennie Igiehon.
Hawley, 32, has recently been snapped up after being released by Torquay United He began his career with Walsall but after several loan spells, made his name with Carlisle United where he netted 47 times in 118 appearances.
Whilst with the Cumbrians, he won both the Conference and League Two titles and was voted League Two Fans’ Player of the Year and was part of the League Two Team of the Year
He moved to Preston North End and more loan spells followed before he moved on to Notts County, Scunthorpe United and finally Torquay.
He also has England C international honours having won two caps.
Karl will wear squad number 23 during his stay at the Impact Arena.
Igiehon, 20, has finally received international clearance to play for the club having had successful trials with the Reds in the summer.
A powerful front runner with a good turn of pace, Benny has most recently been playing with FC Langenthal in Switzerland but also a member of the FC Halifax Town Academy side in 2012.
Igiehon will wear squad number 19 during his stay at the Impact Arena.
Both players go into the squad for Saturday’s game at Barnet.
