The Reds will go into the game full of confidence having secured back-to-back wins for the first time this season as they came from behind to run out 2-1 winners away at Chorley last weekend.

Chorley took the lead nine minutes before the half time as Andy Bond opened the scoring in the 36th minute of play but Alfreton came back strongly in the second half and two goals inside two minutes from John Johnston and debutant Jordan Robertson were enough to seal all three points.

For the visit of the Pitmen, Reds manager Nicky Law has the boost of having influential midfield player Andi Thanoj fit again although he is still without injured striker Sam Smith and the suspended Dan Bradley.

Hednesford are also in good form of late having won their last two league games also.

After recording a 4-1 win at Worcester City on August Bank Holiday Monday, they ran out 3-2 winners in a five-goal thriller against Boston United last Saturday, Williams snatching the victory for the home side very late on.

Hednesford took the lead on 31 minutes through Obeng and their lead was then doubled just three minutes later as Williams slotted the ball in on 34 minutes.

After half time Boston managed to pull a goal back after 61 minutes, Jones giving the visitors some hope.

With just ten minutes to go, the Pilgrims found their equaliser that they had been pushing for, this time Piergianni the scorer, but a last-grasp goal in the 94th minute from Williams left the home fans elated as they had managed to grab the victory in dramatic style.

On the road this season, Hednesford have lost 2-0 at AFC Fylde, 2-1 at Harrogate Town and drawn 1-1 at North Ferriby United prior to gaining their first victory with the 4-1 success at Worcester City.
