If one fight on Saturday’s bill at the Sheffield Arena will guarantee fireworks it will be the clash between Atif Shafiq and Jamie Robinson.
Rotherham’s Shafiq and Bolsover’s Robinson meet over eight rounds after going back and forth over social media for the past several weeks.
And as they met at yesterday’s pre-fight press conference, both men predicted the bout will not go beyond four rounds.
Robinson – known as the Ginger Rocket – said: “He’s called the wrong guy out this time.
“It aint rocket science what the fight is going to bring. He’s going to run like a b***h and I’m going to hunt him down and take him out.
“That’s it. I’m ready for it.
“I wear my heart on my sleeve every time I go to the ring.
“I sound quite arrogant and cocky right now but I’m just very confident in my own ability.”
Robinson has two defeats on his nine fight record.
Shafiq, who has won 14 of his 15 fights, responded: “I’m going to take him to school.
“He’s not at my level and I’m going to prove I’m levels above him on Saturday.”
Promoter and manager Dave Coldwell knows the two fighters well with both men having featured on his shows in the past.
He said: “I can’t wait for it. It’ll be a really good fight.
“Jamie is a character. He’s half a nutcase but in a nice way.
“On Saturday night it’s going to be a case of letting him go but he can’t be stupid against an Ingle fighter like Atif.”
