Dudley keeps his cool

Brampton FC 2,

Dronfield Town A 1

Brampton managed to keep their unbeaten league start in a tight match against Dronfield Town A.

On the half hour mark Brampton went ahead as Dickens was upended in the box and Joe Dudley cooly sent the keeper the wrong way.

Dronfield Town got back into the game before half-time as Brampton managed to defend a corner but were unable to stop the return cross coming back into the box being headed into the far corner.

The second-half winner, which put Brampton into third place in the table, came as Dickens was played through by Branson and he shot past the oncoming keeper from 12 yards taking a fortunate deflection on its way.

Brampton face Dronfield Town A again on Saturday, this time in the return league fixture at Stonelow Road. 2pm Kick off.
