The Media Centre complex has been designed to meet requirements set by the International Cricket Council, England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and its media partners allowing the cricket club to host major matches, including the 2017 ICC Women’s World Cup.

The £2million new build at The 3aaa County Ground will be delivered during the 2015/2016 closed season, due to complete in August 2016.

The contemporary four-storey building will accommodate commercial offices, match control boxes, TV and radio studios, as well as media rooms for commentary, written and multimedia journalists.

Paul Rothera, director at Pick Everard who are constructing the centre, said: “We are thrilled to continue our strong links with Derbyshire County Cricket Club with this latest, exciting project.

“We had worked together previously on the improved 3aaa Pavilion at the start of the year, so we’re delighted to continue this relationship with the new Media Centre.

“The state-of-the-art design will boost the visual appearance of the ground and we look forward to the progress of work and the project’s completion mid-2016.”

The Media Centre will also hold commercial office space and is already attracting a number of businesses to work in a high quality, high performance sporting and working environment, in an excellent central location from Derby city centre.

Derbyshire County Cricket Club chief executive, Simon Storey, added: “We’re delighted to extend our already successful partnership with Pick Everard, which has offices here in Derby.

“After working with them as part of the £1million redevelopment of the 3aaa Pavilion and Elite Performance Centre, we know that the results will be high-quality.

“The new building, which is part of phase two of our overall ground development project, will provide a striking new addition to The 3aaa County Ground while offering elite facilities for the media and commercial clients.”
