Lancashire batter Paul Horton is next guest speaker at Bassetlaw Umpires Association

Australian born batter Paul Horton, who captained Lancashire for most of last season, is the guest speaker at the Bassetlaw Umpires Association next meeting on Saturday 7th March.

Paul, who opens the batting for Lancashire, has a first class average of 37.75 with 11 hundreds to his name and an highest score of 209.

Collectively he has scored 8,911 runs in 152 first class games and is also regarded by many good judges as the finest slip fielder in county cricket.

Paul was regarded as mainly a four day performer, but now can adapt to the rigours of the one day game very easily. In the first class game he His one day record includes another two centuries and an average of 31.57.
