Derbyshire take three wickets as they turn up pressure on Gloucestershire

Derbyshire took three wickets in quick succession as they pressed for victory in the LV= County Championship Division Two game against Gloucestershire at Bristol.

Faced with a first-innings deficit of 270 after Derbyshire declared on 545-9 in the morning, Gloucestershire looked to be battling back as Will Tavare and Gareth Roderick put together a second-wicket stand of 115 in 32 overs.

However, Tony Palladino had Tavare lbw for 45 and then accounted for Australian Peter Handscomb, caught behind off a defensive edge, for 14.

Roderick, having scored his fourth half-century in four County Championship innings this season, was dismissed for 75 just before tea when he played on while attempting to pull a delivery from Tom Taylor.

At tea, Gloucestershire were on 156 for four from 51 overs, with Hamish Marshall on six and Geraint Jones on four.
