Captain Madsen hosts half-term cricket coaching clinic for youngsters

Derbyshire CCC captain Wayne Madsen will be hosting another half-term coaching clinic for youngsters next week, with the help of teammate and fast bowler Tony Palladino.

The 31-year-old South African batsman will be passing on his skills and experience in a session for boys and girls of all abilities in the Elite Performance Centre Cricket Hall at The 3aaa County Ground on Tuesday, October 27, from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm.

Schoolchildren, aged six to 12, will get the unique opportunity to learn from Madsen, who has featured in more than 200 matches as a professional and amassed more than 10,000 runs to his name.

The 32-year-old Palladino, who has also appeared in more than 200 matches as a professional, claiming in excess of 350 wickets, will assist Madsen in the delivering of the sessions, which promise to be fun-filled and a terrific experience for any young budding cricketers.

The fee for the clinic is £20 per child. Proceeds raised will go to the Cricket Derbyshire Foundation charity.

Previous, similar sessions have gone down very well, so parents are advised to book early to avoid disappointment.
