Corey is top of rankings


In the end-of-season rankings Chesterfield AC has 16 athletes in the UK Top 50 with the strongest age-group being U13 Girls where two athletes hold six ranking places between them.

In total the club’s athletes have 23 ranked performances listed between them.

Top of the shop is Corey Wilson, who is ranked in four different events, with Katy Gigg, Ed Selvey and Jordan Spolding each named in two.

The club’s cross-country award winner, Tasmin Boam, started off the new season in fine form when she won the U15 Girls race at the opening meeting of the new Derbyshire Mini Cross-Country League season at Derby Moorways.

The full squad of 20 runners finished second overall behind old rivals Amber Valley and Erewash AC in the battle for the end-of season team award.

Final result: Amber Valley 88 points, Chesterfield 134, Derby 143, Blackwell 171, Heanor 201.
