A BUSY week at Matlock Golf Club started with a Pro-Am competition on Tuesday.
Sixteen teams of four players competed with a professional in each team.
Three professional players – James Whatley, Morley Hayes; Paul Wesselingh, Kedleston Park; Jack Woolgar, Chesterfield, shared the winning professional round with a score of 66.
The winning team, with a 17 under par score of 123, was James Whatley, Morley Hayes; Nigel Furniss, Andrew Hession and Gary Twigg, all from Matlock.
Club matches saw the Ladies Silver Team lose to Mickleover away by three holes.
The vice-captain’s team played Dore and Totley winning 5.5 to 0.5.
The ladies single knockout Greatorex Cup competition was won by Emily Morris, beating Diane Gray on the 21st hole.
Derbyshire Ladies County Golf Association held their county captains Am-Am fundraising event on Saturday.
Each Derbyshire club entered a team of three players who played with a county player or county executive member.
Twenty-three teams competed. Winners, with 95pts, were the County Girls Team consisting of Lydia Ingram, Tapton; Emily Large, Horsley Lodge; Alex Williams, Tapton; Ann Riley, county girls organiser.
