Meanehile, Matlock’s top time-triallist’s Richard Cordin and Patrick Gould took part in the Ashville Wheelers Open 25-mile time-trial on Saturday.

Twenty eight riders battled the blustery conditions on the notoriously slow course, with pre-race favourite Steve Gibson of Peak Road Club taking the victory with a time of one hour and 29 seconds.
