Club secure Premier status

Chesterfield Athletics Club secured their Premier Division status for another season with a points tally of 516 in the final UK Young Athletes League match at Hull.

Another win treble from Corey Wilson and doubles from Russell Mackey and Ed Selvey helped to make up for a few absentees elsewhere.

Match result: Gateshead 630, York 535, Chesterfield 516.

Individual winners:U13G: Corey Wilson 75m 10.2s (G1), 150m 20.4s (G1), long jump 4.49m; Jordan White shot put 6.39m.

U13B: Aaron Wass shot putt 7.06m.

U15G: Lauren Wilson high jump 1.35m; Alisha Collings discus 20.35 (G4); Ella Barrett pole vault 2.40m (G4); Lauren Beckett 1500m 5:26.3; Shannon Ashmore javelin 25.41m.

U15B: Russell Mackey high jump 1.50m, discus 23.11m; Joe Patton pole vault 2.60m (G4).

U17W: Lindsey Morgan 800m 2:20.0 (G3); Kat Scott 80Mh 13.0s (G4).

U17M: Nathan Pentin pole vault 4.02m (new PB); Christy McCorry 1500mS/C 6:15.4; Nathan Staniford 1500m 4:28.1; Ed Bilton 3000m 10:29.0; Ed Selvey 400mH 62.0s (G4), pole vault 3.85m.

Seven Chesterfield club athletes have been selected to represent Derbyshire in the English Schools’ Track & Field Championships at Gateshead International Stadium on July 1/2.
