Race driver Vaughan Fletcher headed to Oulton Park on Saturday to kick off the 2011 season with his first race.
Following on from a successful season in 2010, which saw the Chesterfield-based racer take first place overall in the Nippon Challenge, Vaughan has moved to the “Classic Thunder” championship to provide a fresh challenge.
Again piloting his ScoobyClinic-prepared Subaru, Fletcher chased championship points against some of the quickest saloon cars in the UK.
Despite losing his brakes on lap four of 13, the talented driver brought the car home first in class and sixth overall ahead of fellow Chesterfield racers Simon Deaton and Ian Froggatt in a Seat Leon Supa Copa and another Subaru Impreza respectively.
Vaughan is supported and sponsored in 2011 by local businesses ScoobyClinic, Wingerworth Tyres and builder Alan Dart.
He is pictured right at the wheel of his car.
