“It has been a hard (training) camp. I have been enjoying it, getting those runs in, training, hard work and dieting… but I am ready,” he said.

“The training (as a professional) is a lot harder. It’s a lifestyle. It is a lot more intense, everything is totally different.”

Dring, had his sights set on a career in boxing since his days at Tupton Hall School.

He decided to turn professional after a successful 35-bout amateur career (with a 50-50 record), which included winning a silver medal at the Haringey Box Cup in 2015.

He added: “Then I thought I was enjoying it boxing) so why not give it a go and I have stuck at it.

“I want to make it to the top. I will keep my head down and keep training. I am working hard to get there.

“I’m always in the gym. I train two or three times every day, and I want to give my boxing career the best shot.”

Dring is looking for four fights in 2020 and anyone wanting to travel to Rotherham to support him should make contact via Facebook.
