Boxing: Martin Jolley eyes championship crown

Chesterfield veteran Martin Jolley has announced he will be coming out of retirement for another crack at championship honours.

Jolley will challenge Olly O’Toole for the EBF Midlands Area light-heavyweight championship in Derby on Sunday, May 26.

He was a tough-as-old boots professional who shared a ring with four world champions - Tony Oakey, Jason Matthews, Robin Reid and Glenn Catley - during his 75-fight career.

After a decade away, Jolley is getting back in the ring for his third attempt at Midlands honours at the Assembly Rooms.

O’Toole is a 23-year-old from Burton with an all-action style and is making the first defence of the belt he won in February with a points win over Karl Bell.

Tickets available from 07885 463676.
