Panthers returned to winning ways and they remain hopeful that they can produce a string of positive results which will take them back up the table.

Tries came from Steve Avenier, Alex Hughes and Luke Cocking.

A conversion from Antony Barnett and a Cocking drop goal rounded off the scoring.

Tupton 20, East Retford 12

Tupton produced their best performance of the season to continue their unbeaten start to the Midlands 4 East (North) season.

Brett Marriott converted a Jordan White try and further touchdowns from Jonathan Marriott and Adam Holmes saw Tupton lead 17-0 at half time.

Retford came back with two tries but Brett Marriott slotted a penalty with the last kick of the game to seal it for Tupton.

Amber Valley 30,

Kesteven 20

Valley finally got back to winning ways with a solid performance to relieve some of the pressure and move them up to ninth in the league.

Valley led 17-10 at half time thanks to tries from Steemson and Shaun Dowdall, who also added a conversion and kicked a penalty.

In the second half a further Dowdall penalty, plus tries from Ben Parker and John Redhead took the Amber men to victory.

Other result: Amber Valley 2nd XV 13-10 Ashfield 2nd XV.

Hope Valley 1sts 29

Hope Valley continued their impressive run of form away at Winnington Park.

Jay McGuigan scored a hat-trick of tries while Tommy McGuigan kicked a trio of conversions and a drop goal.

No 8 Hodgson also added a try as Valley climbed to fourth place in the League.

On Saturday they entertain Birkenhead 3rds.

The Panthers 3rd team included a number of junior players stepping up into senior rugby for the first time.

Liam Charlesworth’s try saw Chesterfield trail 17-5 at the break. In the second half, Chesterfield responded with a Daz Lund try which was converted. Man of the match was Jay Topley.

Two James Yapp tries saw Chesterfield lead 10-0 at half time.

In the second half, Charlie Yap scored his first try of the season and Dominic Grainger crossed in the corner to seal a comfortable victory.

Man of the match was Isaac Tuckley.

Sheffield ran in six tries but the developing Panthers team never gave up.

Match awards went to William Hodgkinson and Rowan Barnard.

Panthers tries came from Josh Firth and Harvey Fletcher, with Fletcher also converting.

Man of the match was Thomas Hawkins.

East Retford 2nd XV 42,

Ripley Rhinos 1st XV 12

A patched-up Rhinos side came out second best at East Retford in a Pennant League clash.

The visitors led 12-10 at half time but Retford battled back in the second half.

Ripley tries came from man of the match Anton Brown and Keith Buzzard while Dave Trubee kicked a conversion.

Ant Marriott led the way with four tries while Richard Kirk crossed the line for a brace.

Other try scorers were Simon Langley and Dylan Samuels while Chris Kirkwood kicked four conversions.

Man of the match was Wayne Lilleyman.

Tupton 3rds 15, Rolls-Royce 15

Rolls led 10-0 at half time before a try from Jimmie Brown, which was converted by Shaun Grocutt, got Tupton off the mark.

They took the lead through a Stuart Bloor try while Grocutt extended the lead with a penalty.

Royce game back and the game finished at 15-15.
