St Mary’s RC High School in Chesterfield qualified for the English Schools Track and Field Cup national final for the second year running.
The girls saw off competition from seven other schools in the regional final to book their place at Gateshead International Stadium on Saturday.
They will face another 12 other schools to fight for the national track and field cup title.
PE teacher Ali Pimblett said: “To make it through to the finals last year was, what we thought, a once in a lifetime achievement.
“To then go and make the final the following year is absolutely phenomenal. we can’t quite believe it.”
